Barons Classic Car Auction Fri 27th May-Southampton is on and there are some nice cars for sale and lots of expected bargains for both Enthusiasts and ‘Investorcollectors’.
Barons Auctions based at their offices in Southampton has been around for many years and is a well-respected auction house, they are a friendly but highly expert group and will offer lots of assistance for new and veteran buyers.
Our pick of the crop..
There are some nice cars from modern collectible BMW, to nice Abarth. But, for our money the one to look at as a full-on Classic car and future money in the bank is:
1947 LANCHESTER LD 10
Guide Price: £2,500 to £3,500
This Lanchester has been in storage for many years and will require a certain amount of recommissioning. The car starts well and sounds great, its pre-selector gearbox works well but will require some adjustment of the rods as the selector does not line up with the numbers. The ignition light sometimes remains on so will need to be looked at before attempting a long journey. The brakes work well but again it be best to have them checked. The vendor states that the underside is in fabulous condition, it is hard to believe this car now 75 years old.
