David Cooke Cegga Ferrari 250 to appear at Goodwood 2020 in New clothes!

Owner David Cooke originally from Brisbane Australia now Anglophile has a long and enviable career in Rugby including playing for England, now a successful London business man, Classic Concurs judge and Motorcycle fan. In 2012 he turned his life long passion for dirt bikes into the desertrats with their own Facebook group. His cherished and quite stunning CEGGA Ferrari has been invited to race in the Salvadori Cup at the Goodwood Members Meeting at the end of March 2020. www.goodwood.com-salvadori-cup-highlights/

(SUSSEX TROPHY) Swiss brothers George and Claude Gachnang wanted to improve the Ferrari 250 TR, so they bought a crashed example and added independent suspension and in-board disc brakes. Dubbed the ‘CEGGA’, and using a bespoke body designed by Scaglietti, just 12 were built. After chassis 002/60 was restored to TR spec, the remaining components were returned to the Gachnangs and, along with driver David Cooke, they built this car. Cooke climbed from 26th on the grid to 22nd in the Sussex Trophy.

It debuted in bare aluminium (as it did for its first competitive event in 1960) at the 2019 Goodwood Revival meeting and will be now painted for the 2020 historic event season in it’s Nurburgring 1000 klms and Pescara 24 hrs Ferrari red livery (Above).
