The fundraiser hopes to provide some light relief in lock-down, with Sunday 3rd May set to invite owners of motoring machinery to stage a national static event at home. Sharing their passion for motion either online or on the driveway, for the enjoyment of local communities while out on their permitted daily exercise (while observing social distancing requirements of course).

Springtime typically sees the classic motoring calendar in full swing, with enthusiasts, fans and the industry itself coming together to celebrate and socialise at a variety of shows, races and meetings. Often drawing huge numbers to packed out arenas, show grounds and grandstands, to entertain and satisfy the automotive passion of petrol heads.

Owing to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease COVID-19, the subsequent isolation measures have resulted in the vast majority of motoring events and motorsport races being canceled, or postponed. While the government advice to stay home, protect the NHS and save lives is being widely supported, social distancing measures have meant that motoring enthusiasts have swapped time spent at displays and events, for time spent tinkering and polishing at home.

The first weekend in May, is an opportunity to throw open the garage doors, pull off the covers and join like-minded enthusiasts in supporting the incredible NHS heroes, working selflessly in exceptional circumstances.
Supporting the ‘stay at home’ mantra, Classics for Carers aims to raise money for front-line carers, by appealing to enthusiasts, to purchase an event rally plate or stickers for their vehicles (where all profits go to the NHS charity) or make a donation via the event’s JustGiving charity page.

JOIN NOW and be a part of the fantastic event!

Put that tinkering & polishing to a good cause on Sunday 3rd May!
On the day of the event, you are invited to share your classic car or bike either online (via social media using #classicsforcarers) or on your driveway, to give those on their permitted daily exercise, a different view on the day! (Following social distancing requirements of course)
This is a non-driving event and please observe social distancing requirements. ● Please visit our JustGiving page to make a donation (perhaps equivalent to a ticket price, or whatever you can) to support NHS carers.
● You can buy an event rally plate or stickers for your vehicle (where all profits go to the NHS charity), or save and print a copy of the Classics for Carers poster for display.

SVA Says: ‘We at the SVA think this is a brilliant way for every Vintage, Veteran, Classic and Modern Collectible Car owner to get involved and do a small part to support the NHS and Social Care. I for one plan to buy a plaque for my car because having both crashed my motorcycle badly and suffered a stroke in 2010, have benefited from the superb NHS. We wholeheartedly recommend all Traders, Owners, Collectors and Enthusiasts to get involved and show your car image, buy a plaque or make a donation no matter how small.‘ Martyn Raybould MD
