The popular Regent Street Motor Show makes a welcome return to central London on Saturday 6 November with eye-catching displays of the very best cars from past, present and future generations.
Highlighting today’s fast-changing automotive technologies, the UK’s best attended free-to-view motor show is focusing a major spotlight on the very latest generation of electric and hydrogen powered cars in its special Switch Live Zone. Here visitors keen to learn more about a new brighter, exciting and more sustainable driving future will be able to explore a wide selection of state-of-the-art models from an impressive line-up of leading manufacturers including BMW, Fiat, Kia, Polestar and Toyota.
Moreover, those keen to find out even more – and to experience one of these game-changers in action – will be given an exclusive insight into next year’s exciting new Switch Live event which is taking place at the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in May.
Ensuring the story starts right from the dawn of motoring, no fewer than a hundred of the pioneering pre-1905 ‘horseless carriages’ preparing for the following day’s 125th anniversary RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run will be on show for all to admire. These will be based in the evocative RM Sotheby’s Veteran Car Zone staged on a traffic-free Regent Street between Piccadilly and Oxford Circuses.
With a panel of expert judges – all armed with clipboards – presenting prized awards in the prestigious Concours d’Elegance, the veteran cars are always resplendent. Adding further to the period drama, many of the owners don captivating clothing from Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Bridging the gap and spanning the intervening decades between the epoch-defining Switch Live and Veteran Car Zones, Regent Street will be graced by fantastic collections of fabulous classic cars.
A special collection of Jaguar E-types will be celebrating London in the swinging sixties and the lifestyle movement’s epicentre on the neighbouring Carnaby Street. Jaw-dropping Ferraris will be out in force, too, while fans of James Bond will not want to miss either a number of standout Aston Martins or, indeed, their chance to have a selfie with one of the Land Rover Defenders from the recently released No Time To Die movie.
Other notable past icons include an original Land Rover Series 1 from the 1940s, a stunning Mercedes 300SL Gullwing from the 1950s, Lotus Esprit and Datsun 240Z sportsters from the 1970s plus a much-loved Ford Capri from the 1980s.
Providing yet more entertainment, regular performances from the West End Kids song and dance troupe will be reflecting on each of these automotive decades. What’s more the Top Gear Experience simulator will be on Regent Street together with Trackstars electric go-karts for those of a younger age.
RM Sotheby’s is also staging a prominent London auction of classic and collector’s cars in Waterloo Place, St James’s on the same day.
Further enhancing the overall visitor environment and providing less crowded viewing areas, the pavements in Regent Street have been significantly widened since the previous show in 2019. These extended sidewalks offer more seating and even better access to the world class shops which line the famous John Nash facades in the city’s centre.
